Disabling the new Divi premade layouts is very easy
There is no doubt that the new Divi premade layouts are a great extension. There are already some great layouts in this library, and as announced there will be even more in the future. The Divi premade layouts can sometimes significantly reduce your working time, or they can serve as a source of inspiration for you.
However, many people in various Facebook groups, especially in the “Divi Theme Users & Elegant Marketplace,” have asked how to turn them off for their customers. But why does that make sense? There are only 2 options, which makes the plugin very easy to use:
- Layouts Disable User Check – If this button is activated, the layouts will be hidden for all users.
- Layouts Change User Role – Here you can enter the user roles (hierarchical, e. g. editor, author…) and/or permissions (e. g. activate_plugins, delete_others_pages…) separated by a comma, for users who are allowed to continue using the Divi Premade layouts
The plugin is compatible with Divi Backend Page Builder and Visual Builder. It is also Multisite compatible and works with automatic updates.

Hello Robert. DFBM needed to be updated. Unfortunately, I only got around to it now. The last year was not my best and I had a lot to sort out in my private life. You can try again. DFBM is online:

Please note that DFBM can so far only be set under the old PageBuilder. We are trying hard to adapt DFBM to the new PageBuilder, an ETA can not be given at the moment. To activate the old PageBuilder go to Divi Options –> Builder –> Advanced
Then disable the latest Divi Builder Experience.
When you are done with your settings in DFBM, you can enable the option again. Just don’t make any more changes to DFBM in the new builder.
In principle it also makes sense to enable the classic editor for the same tab, this disables the Gutenberg editor in the backend.
Dear Bruno. I’m really thankful for your plugin. It solved the problem when I can leave the client in Editor mode. But I have some clients in Admin mode and they can also see the options and the plugin. Would you like to create a code to insert into functions.php (in the child theme, of course) to hide the premade for everyone? Thank you

I think there is no need for a new filter hook. All you have to do is enter a role in the allowed permissions that doesn’t exist. For example, you can simply specify “placeholder”. Since this role does not exist, the layouts are no longer displayed:
